How to distress jeans

No one escapes a pair of jeans because they are fashion staple ever since. Resilience is what they differ from others since they are standard not only in the fashion world, but also in everyday dressing.

Distressed jeans are somewhat worn-out-but-still-in kind of denim. Distressing jeans is not only fashionable but also gives another birth to a pair of old jeans. They look so cool, very edgy, and classy at the same time. You can find expensive distressed jeans, but you can also make your own with patience and creativity.

Here are simples steps on how you can distress your jeans;

Prepare Your Tools

In distressing jeans, you need to have a pair of jeans you are sure you want to rip and tear. The secret to distressing is tweezers, so you will need a good gripping one. Cutter is a must, but if you do not have one, you can use a pair of scissors. If you are not really sure about where you want your jeans to be distressed, have a marker with you like chalk, crayon, or even a pencil.

Mark The Parts

The first thing to do is to mark the part of the jeans you want to distress. Mostly, tears and holes are happening in the knee parts, near the pockets, and the leg part.

Cut Cut Cut

Once you’re settled, slice the marked part using a cutter. But before that, make sure you have a cardboard inserted inside the jeans to prevent the back fabric from being damaged. Continue cutting, say ½ inch interval, in whatever length you want. Once you’re fine with the cuts, flip the first strip over and pull apart each of the white strands with a tweezer, here you will be left with white strands. Using a tweezer, carefully remove the vertical strands, the blue one, and this will leave you with white strands alone. Do the same procedure with the rest of the cuts and you will have your distressed jeans in no time.
